"And I apologize for all the ink-blots. It's hard to write with hooves."

It's nearing the end of a very long day, and my shoulders and neck are tight with tension. I've got a stack of grading and studying to do, and I just called for pizza because I have no energy to spare on things like cooking food for my family. In others words, I'm pooped.

My spirits are high, though, because I just read the writing assignments that the PalmKids had for Omnibus III secondary reading today. They're reading Pride and Prejudice, and because Jane Austen made use of letters in her writing, the assignment has students retell a familiar story using letters, imitating an epistolary novel. They were assigned to tell the story of The Three Little Pigs.

The PalmKids couldn't be more different if they tried (I really do think they try!), and their writing reflects that. Each told the story in his/her own style, and it makes me smile to think about it. They're funny and creative people.

Yeah, homeschooling is a really good gig. I'd hate to miss this stuff.
