7 Quick Takes - December 12

I've seen a few blogging friends participate in this, so I'm going to give it a try:

1. My usual breakfast is oatmeal with fresh blueberries, but this morning I had a weird craving for leftover Greek salad. I'm on my second bowl. My kids think I'm weird. I kind of like them thinking I'm a little off because that keeps them wondering what I'll do next. :-)

2. Our laundry room is outside, so all the rain yesterday meant I couldn't do any laundry. No rain today so far, so guess what I've got ahead of me?

3. I'm a little sad to see Tommy Tuberville go as Auburn's coach. Only a little sad, though, because it's just football, and in a world where terrorists are killing people, governors are selling Senate seats, and people are dying of cholera, football is a real luxury.

4. We're reading Tom Sawyer in Omnibus III right now, and I love it just as much as I did when I was a kid. If I weren't homeschooling, I'd probably never re-read books like that.

5. The more Latin I learn, the more I love Latin. The problem is finding the time to work on my own study.

6. We're using our Advent Jesse tree again, but this year we're using the adult devotions in the book. The PalmKids have outgrown the simple ones for children.

7. I did some planting earlier in the week (red ginger, ti, and laua'e fern), and I realized how much I miss digging in the dirt. Funny how I had more time to do that when my kids were small.
